Understanding Natural Wood
Natural Variations
- The characteristics of the wood used may vary slightly from samples or product photography
- Wood is a natural material with inherent variations, including knots, texture and grain variations
- We cannot control or guarantee the exact look of any board or product
- All of our products are entirely handcrafted, and no product will appear exactly like another
Wood Movement and Care
- Despite our careful kiln drying and finishing, wood can be prone to bowing, kinking, twisting, cupping or crooking
- Wood responds to temperature and humidity by expanding and contracting
- Changes may be noticeable in the physical appearance of the product
- Small movements and cracks as the wood adjusts are not faults, but natural occurrences
- Keep products in consistent, stable conditions to minimise temperature and moisture effects
- Avoid placing products near heat sources such as radiators or windows to ensure longevity
